UniqKnow helps small businesses get retail-ready, win the shelf and build a growth strategy that lasts.

Hi, I'm Peane.

I'm a commercial and marketing leader. Since 2009 I've grown brands across FMCG, pharmaceuticals, non-profits and SMEs, in South Africa and five other African markets.

I've managed brands from cold and flu remedies to the maize meal on millions of South African tables. I've set national pricing strategies, launched new products, built route-to-market models for new countries, and helped small brands get onto national retail shelves.

Along the way I kept meeting small businesses with great products that couldn't get onto the shelf, or couldn't stay there. They weren't short of effort. They were missing the foundations formal retail expects: retail-ready products, a convincing trade story and a clear growth strategy.

UniqKnow is my answer to that. It's built around market access and growth strategy: getting retail-ready, getting listed, and growing once you're there. The guides share what I've tried and tested, plus lessons from other experts, rewritten so a small team can act on them. The tools help you put them into practice every day.

I'm also a musician, releasing and performing as Mixed by PrichA. Artists often ask me how to grow their reach and build a lasting brand, so there's a section for creatives too.

The three foundations most small businesses are missing

  • Retail-ready productsBarcodes set up properly for every pack level (unit, shrink and case), as retailers require.
  • A convincing trade storyThe case a category manager needs to hear before giving you space on the shelf.
  • A clear growth strategyHow you'll win consumers and widen access to your product, so the listing lasts.
